Same details, another place
A form comes in. You copy the details into a spreadsheet, customer record or another system.
Less admin. More getting things done.
The copying, clicking, chasing and updating. If you're doing the same thing over and over, there's probably a better way.
I help people and businesses cut out repetitive tasks, connect the tools they use and make everyday processes run more smoothly. Tell me what's frustrating you and I'll help work out how to fix it.
Not sure if it can be automated? That's fine. You don't need a technical brief.
A simple illustration. Your process might look completely different.
Sound familiar?
None of these jobs is necessarily difficult. They just keep taking time, and they're easy to forget when life gets busy.
A form comes in. You copy the details into a spreadsheet, customer record or another system.
An order or enquiry arrives. You update a record and try to remember the next email.
You download the same information and rebuild the same report, week after week.
One small repeated task keeps interrupting the work you actually want to get done.
Your time is better spent on something else.
A more useful way
Imagine the right information getting to the right place without you moving it by hand. The right email sent at the right time. An update when something changes. A report ready without the usual routine.
A well-designed automation can reduce repetitive work and help the steps fit together. It doesn't always need a new system or a massive project. Sometimes the simplest fix is the best one.
You don't have to work out how to build it. That's my job.
Practical help, whatever the tools
If you're doing something repeatedly, or moving information between people and tools, it's worth asking whether there is an easier way.
Move the right information between spreadsheets, forms, websites, databases and other services without repeated copying and pasting.
Set up useful notifications, reminders, confirmations and follow-ups when the right thing happens, with checks where needed.
Simplify repetitive filing, updates, data handling, routine checks and the little tasks that keep eating into your day.
If you're stuck moving between separate apps or services, I'll look for a sensible way to join the steps up.
Reduce manual steps around enquiries, bookings, sales, subscriptions, onboarding and customer updates.
Sometimes a ready-made integration isn't enough. Custom code, a practical workaround or a simpler process might be the answer.
Something else in mind? Tell me what's taking up too much of your time.
Simple from the start
Explain what you're doing now, what keeps repeating and what you'd rather happen instead. Plain English is perfect.
I'll look at the tools and steps involved, what's possible and whether automating it is worthwhile. If there's a sensible route, I'll explain the work and cost before you commit.
Once we agree on the scope, I'll set it up and test it, explain what it does and discuss any monitoring or upkeep it may need.
Some tasks need human approval, maintenance or extra software. I'll explain that rather than pretending everything is magic.
Hands-on examples
I spend a lot of time exploring how tools can work together and documenting the solutions. These are examples of practical problems I get stuck into, not client case studies.
A workflow can keep relevant user details in sync across separate websites, so records don't have to be maintained by hand.
Automating routine configuration across a group of websites can make setup more consistent and less time-consuming.
Connect a purchase to the right customer record, tag or follow-up instead of relying on someone to remember every step.
The person behind the service
I'm the person behind this service, provided through Thanet Digital. I enjoy finding practical ways to make websites, apps and everyday systems work better together, especially when a small change can remove a frustrating repeated task.
Through TechArticles and TechArticlesUK on YouTube, I share the things I build, test and discover. Really Useful Plugins is another part of the same Thanet Digital ecosystem.
You don't need to read the articles, watch the videos or understand the technology. You can just ask me to help.
No pressure, no jargon
You don't need to know whether your idea is possible before getting in touch.
Some things are easy to automate. Some need investigation or custom development. And sometimes the right answer is to simplify the process instead. I'll help you make sense of the options and say if automation isn't the right fit.
Not every problem needs a huge system. Sometimes it just needs the right fix.
Questions & answers
No. Just explain the task in your own words and what you'd like to happen instead.
Not at all. I have plenty of experience with websites and online tools, but I'm interested in all sorts of repetitive digital tasks and processes. Tell me what you need and I'll let you know whether I can help.
Often, yes. It depends on the tools, available integrations and access. I'll look at what's possible before proposing a solution.
That's fine. A ready-made integration may not be the answer. I can investigate custom development or a simpler workaround and explain the options.
It depends on the task, tools, complexity and ongoing requirements. I'll explain the proposed scope and cost before you commit.
No automation should be described that way. Connected tools can change, so I'll explain any monitoring or upkeep the solution may need.
Start with the task
Describe the annoying bit in your own words. You don't need to know the technical answer first.
Share what happens now, what you'd like to happen instead and any tools you already use. I'll take a look and help you work out a sensible next step.
No commitment to proceed. Scope and cost are agreed before any build work starts.
